Wedgewood

1987 gray Hanoverian stallion
By Waldgott
(Waldhorn, Waidmannsdank xx, Gotthard)
Out of Domonique
(Dueker, Duellant, Lombard)

Although a beautiful jumper
Wedgewoods true talent was in dressage.
With a free shoulder, elastic hocks
and a exceptional willingness to please
he was an incredible horse to ride.
Due to an injury his career was cut short .
He was retired from riding in 1998.

Wedgewood and Kelley

THE OLD MAN

He now spends his days next to two of his favorite mares
making sure that all is in place in his domain.
Wedgewood passes on his wonderful movement,
clean jump and kind temperament
to all his offspring.

Morning Glory's Ilyushin

1999 dun Connemara
by Fiddler's Glory Boy
(*Grange Finn Sparrow, Threesprings Molly MacDaire)
out of Tullymor's Lizzie MacLynch
(Montully's Son, Tre' Awain Silaech)

Although still young, Ilyushin has proven himself as a great sporthorse sire. His first foal sporthorse cross crop (2001)included MG's Katmandu who was Silver medal winner at his American Warmblood Society (AWS) testing.

His 2002 son, MG's Sniper was the year end AWS Gold medal winner in the pony division. All of his offspring have received a rating of Red Preferred or better with the AWS. His two daughters, Elysium and Glory (both out of Waterford) won their Connemara halfbred classes and the Upperville Colt and Horse show in 2007. Elysium took reserve championship in the division.

Caroline Nesbitt owns Ilyushin now and said the following when he arrived:

"I cannot tell you how happy I am to have Ilyushin here. On the mushy side, I felt like we knew each other the second he stepped off the trailer and we all just love him to pieces. He has a home for life here. I am finding him a much different pony than our old boy Chiltern Colm was. Much more laid back, less busy and pesky and generally humorous-but-annoying. Lusha reminds me of Ferdinand the bull. He is I think one of the sweetest natured ponies I have ever met."

Caroline offers AI services for Ilyushin in the future and can be reached at:

His first purebred Connemara crop arrived in 2008!!! Visit Caroline to see his beautiful purebred foals.

Ilyushin will continue to be a major contributor to the breeding program at Morning Glory Farm. He is not only throwing color but also passes on his wonderful movement, athletic ability and "cool" Connemara temperament.

Ilyushin was awarded 2005 AWS Pony of the Year!!!

When Muffy Seaton had Ilyushin she wrote the following about him:

"He's just getting better and better. He won his first combined driving event in Fla a couple of weeks ago, getting best overall Traiining level score, and then he just won his first prelim dressage test last weekend in S. Pines. Pretty cool."

and a few weeks later...

"He's now won all the dressage tests he's been in this year. I moved him up to Prelim last week and he won that dressage test by about 6 points over very experienced ponies."
